Nigeria’s opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s 64th Independence Day speech, calling it “a complete waste of time” that failed to address pressing economic and security issues.
The PDP accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of being insensitive to Nigerians’ struggles, citing widespread economic hardship, unemployment, and extreme poverty.
President Tinubu, however, emphasized the need for reform to ensure Nigeria’s progress and prosperity, warning against continuing with business as usual.
The APC responded to the PDP’s criticism, describing the opposition party as frustrated and seeking relevance.
