Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been dealt another injury blow as Riccardo Calafiori has been forced to withdraw from Italy’s squad due to a calf problem. The 22-year-old picked up the injury during Italy’s 3-1 win over France in the Nations League on Friday evening. He was taken off in the 71st minute of the game and will now return to the UK for further medical tests.
This latest setback comes as Arteta is already without Declan Rice, who will miss the upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur due to a controversial red card in the 1-1 draw with Brighton last weekend. Calafiori’s injury adds to Arteta’s concerns ahead of the highly anticipated match against their London rivals.
