After the discovery of a staff member’s lifeless body on the bank’s lavatory floor, a tense atmosphere prevailed at one of the first-generation banks in the Ikorodu neighborhood of Lagos State.
On the toilet floor, there discovered an empty insecticide can that she might have drunk and a suicide note.
According to her coworkers, the late Amarachi, a marketing employee, got up from her table at midday on January 8, 2024, to take a nap.
Her phone, which she had left on the table, kept ringing and without answering, which is when her extended absence was discovered.
Some of her coworkers were rumoured to have looked for her inside the building out of curiosity.
It was reported that one of them discovered it locked from the inside when they went to look for her in the lavatory. When multiple knocks on the door were met with stillness from inside, fear took hold.
She was discovered motionless on the floor when the door was pushed open. It was reported that the deceased, Amarachi Ugochukwu, had committed suicide.
