Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been released from the custody of the Lagos State Police Command. He was arrested on Tuesday due to a dispute over his luxury car, a Mercedes Benz GLE 350, which he purchased from Temmy Autos in Lagos.
Portable had paid N13 million for the vehicle, which was worth N27 million, but refused to pay the outstanding balance of N14 million. The police intervened in the matter, leading to his arrest.
However, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that Portable has been granted bail and released from custody. The status of the dispute over the car payment is still unclear.
