Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara has made a significant declaration, stating his readiness to relinquish his office in the interest of peace within the state.
In a video aired on AIT on Thursday, March 7, Fubara articulated his stance, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to the prosperity of the administration.
He stated, “No sacrifice will be too big for me to pay for the success of this administration and the reason is very simple.”Clarifying his motivations, Fubara underscored that his actions were not driven by political ambitions or personal gain.
Rather, his genuine affection and concern for the welfare of Rivers State propelled his willingness to step aside if it meant fostering greater harmony.
He articulated, “My interest and love for our dear state is genuine. I’m not trying to say I want to be one man that will be there to decide the fate of all, No. But let Rivers state remain.
“Emphasizing the paramount importance of peace and stability, Fubara reiterated his commitment to the enduring prosperity of Rivers State. He affirmed, “If leaving this position is what is needed to bring more peace in the state, I can even tell you people to come and take it.
“Concluding his address, Governor Fubara reminded the populace of the transient nature of political authority, asserting, “It’s not about me. You people should understand that definitely I am here, one day I will go but Rivers State will still remain.
