COURT SENTENCES KILLER COP TO DEATH BY HANGING

Court sentences killer cop to death by hangingJustice Ibironke Harrison of the Lagos State High Court, located at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), has ruled on the case involving suspended Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Drambi Vandi. He has been convicted and sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of Lagos-based lawyer, Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem.

The verdict was delivered because the prosecution successfully proved the suspect’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Despite the absence of an eyewitness who saw Vandi commit the crime, the judge determined that he was the only one with the opportunity to do so.

The court found the testimonies of 11 prosecution witnesses to be credible and convincing. Consequently, Justice Harrison pronounced the death sentence, stating, “You are to be hung by the neck until you are dead.

May God have mercy on your soul.”Vandi had been brought before the court by the Lagos State government for allegedly shooting and killing the 41-year-old pregnant lawyer at the Ajah underbridge checkpoint on December 25, 2022, while she was on her way to church with her family.
