Manchester United has opted to retain Erik ten Hag as their manager, following a comprehensive review of the 2023/24 season.
The club has initiated negotiations for a contract extension with Ten Hag, whose current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, with an option for a 12-month extension.
Despite a disappointing league campaign that saw United finish eighth, Ten Hag’s team secured a notable triumph by winning the FA Cup, defeating Manchester City 2-1 in the final. This marks Ten Hag’s second trophy in as many years at the helm.
Speculation had linked several high-profile managers, including Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, Thomas Frank, Kieran McKenna, and Gareth Southgate, to the United manager role.
However, the club has now reaffirmed its commitment to Ten Hag, opting to continue their partnership with the Dutch manager.
