Atiku Challenges Tinubu to Address Allegations of Forgeries and Defend His NameIn a recent press conference led by Atiku Abubakar’s team, the PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 elections has called on President Bola Tinubu to stop evading allegations of forgeries and come clean on the controversies surrounding him.
Atiku’s media advisers accused Tinubu’s team of fixating on a minor discrepancy in the date of an affidavit Atiku filed over 50 years ago.
They argued that while Tinubu faces serious allegations of certificate forgeries and impersonation, his team is attempting to create distractions by questioning Atiku’s affidavit, signed on a Saturday.
The press conference also highlighted that Atiku’s affidavit was not the only legal document signed on a Saturday in 1973, proving that such occurrences were not unusual. The focus should be on addressing the serious allegations rather than chasing inconsequential issues. Atiku’s team called on Tinubu to follow Atiku’s example and clarify doubts about his past, especially regarding the alleged certificate forgery.
They emphasized the importance of transparency and trust in the office of the president and urged Tinubu to come forward with his 1970 certificate and address the allegations against him.In addition, the press conference mentioned that the FBI and other U.S. security agencies are expected to release information about President Bola Tinubu, and they warned that blocking these revelations could cause significant damage to Nigeria’s reputation. Atiku’s team stressed that Nigeria is a country of laws, and every individual, regardless of their status, should be accountable to these laws.
They called for an end to what they termed as “kindergarten Tom and Jerry” games and hoped that this revelation about Atiku’s affidavit would prompt Tinubu’s team to address the more substantial allegations against him.
