Mobin Media reports that a new World Regulatory Power that will rival the United Nations being controlled by Britain, France and United States of America is about to emerge in international law and politics. It is called BRICS coined from the first letters of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa.
On 24 August 2023, the BRICS nations met in Johannesburg and admitted six more countries, namely: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina, and United Arab Emirate. These new countries will join the BRICS formally in January 2024. Sadly enough, the BRICS ignored Nigeria and did not invite the country to join.

The BBC News reporter, Samantha Granville in Johannesburg, posed a question asking whether BRICS is a new bloc emerging to rival the leadership of the USA in international politics. Mobin Media considers the statements made by the leaders of BRICS in the just concluded Summit to have answered the question. It was reported that China was in the forefront pushing for the expansion of BRICS to counter the western domination of international politics.
According to Professor Steve Tsang, Director of School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) of the University of London, although the BRICS members do not have much in common on the surface, President XI of China showed his fellow BRICS members that they all want a similar future and would not want to live in a Western-dominated world. The President of China said, “What the Chinese are offering is an alternative world order for which autocrats can feel safe and secure in their own countries. They can find an alternative direction of development without having to accept the conditionalities imposed by the democratic Americans and European powers.”
It appears that the conditionalities imposed by Europe and America on the emerging nations are the factors that caused the nations to seek for an alternative World Regulatory Power. It has been observed that most of the cultural practices such as homosexual and lesbian marriages permitted and legalised in Europe and America are abominations in Africa and Asia. It has also been observed that the Western nations often require the developing countries of Africa and Asia to accept homosexual and lesbian marriages before they would receive helps from Europe and America. In this generation, most of the African leaders have woken up and told the West to go with their helps and leave Africa alone. Indeed, Mobin Media believes that the deliverance of Africa has come.
The acronym, BRIC, was coined in 2001 by the Chief Economist of Goldman Sachs, Mr Jim O’Neil. In 2009, South Africa joined the group, and the acronym became BRICS. Following the history of the United Nations (UN) that controls the world by its five permanent members (USA, Britain, France, China and Russia) with the West having the balance of power in its favour, it is likely that the new emerging bloc of BRICS nations will be a rival to the UN as it may also have five permanent members: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Although India was regarded as a third world country colonised by Britain, it has delivered itself from colonial mentality and become the first country in the world to successfully touch down and land its spacecraft on the MOON’s South Pole. Thus, India is transforming itself to another World Power as it has become the first country in the world to successfully touch down and land on the relatively unexplored lunar south pole. In effect, India as a member of the BRICS, is the first country in the world to touch down on the MOON.
