The Federal Government has announced a plan to sell 50kg bags of rice at a subsidized rate of N40,000 to public servants in Abuja. This initiative aims to alleviate the current food crisis in the country and its effects on Nigerians.
To participate, interested staff members are required to complete a Google form on the OHCSF website and submit it to the Director of Human Resources for endorsement. Payment and distribution of the rice will be coordinated by designated officials, with the chairman of the Joint Union Council serving as an observer to ensure transparency.
Each staff member is entitled to purchase one bag, and two or more staff members can jointly purchase a bag to share among themselves. This offer is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to ease living conditions for citizens, as announced by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris.
The government has set up centers across the country where Nigerians can purchase 50kg bags of rice at N40,000. This initiative is one of several by the Tinubu administration to address the food crisis and improve the well-being of citizens.
