D’Tigress Qualifies for Paris 2024 Olympics as Senegal Falls to Belgium
Nigeria’s female national basketball team, D’Tigress, has secured qualification for the basketball event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
This achievement comes following their victory over Senegal with a score of 72-65 in their first game, coupled with Senegal’s defeat to Belgium with a score of 66-92 at the ongoing FIBA Olympic Qualifying Games in Belgium.
Despite suffering a significant loss of 109-44 to the FIBA 2022 World Champions, the U.S.A, D’Tigress, with their opening game triumph, ensured their spot in Paris. Belgium’s victory over Senegal also contributed to USA’s qualification as World champions.
Nigeria and Belgium also secured their spots despite having one game remaining.The Rena Wakama-tutored side has been inundated with congratulatory messages from all quarters as basketball enthusiasts heap praise on the team.
Queen John-Moseph, a basketball enthusiast, commended the team’s performance, stating that they deserved recognition for their hard work and historic achievement.
